Interesting thought. I'll see what I can do. Would it work if it would use IE settings?

This should now be supported with the latest 1.3 BETA version:

Please me know whether this works for you.

Hi

Just installed v1.3.4610 . Can login to Groupwise but with Google get "SyncJobCalendarUI has encountered a problem and needs to close." error. Log file reads:

7/1/2013 12:59:11 UI: Starting SyncJobCalendarUI
7/1/2013 12:59:33 GroupWise: Connecting to account: David_Thiele
7/1/2013 12:59:34 GroupWise: Logging in using MultiLogin.

7/1/2013 12:59:45 GroupWise: Logging in using MultiLogin.
7/1/2013 13:00:28 GoogleData: Connecting to account: davidlthiele@gmail.com

I am on a work LAN that requires proxy authentication to get to Google. Is this the issue?

Thanks for help.

Possibly, but it's not unlikely that there is a different problem. Could you please check the Windows event log? When an application exits like this, records are created in the Windows Event log. Please check this thread for assistance:

http://forum.syncjob.com...lt.aspx?g=posts&t=16

The behaviour also occurs when the incorrect version of the .NET framework is installed (4.0 Client Profile instead of Full).

Please let me know what the log tells.

Thanks.

Hmm, this probably *is* proxy related. Does IE work? Because normally it should use the IE settings.

IE does work however when I access the internet the first time during a session the proxy server requires me to enter a password.

There is a good chance that that will be the problem then... Let me see if I can fix this.

Just a question: Does it also return this error after you opened IE and authenticated the connection?

Yes I get the same error even if I have authenticated and even if signed into Google.

Could you please try this version?

http://www.syncjob.com/d...1.3.4763-Debug-setup.exe

It's basically the latest public version + a slightly changed proxy support implementation (very slight: I replaced some deprecated function calls).

Please let me know what it does... Especially after you have authenticated an IE session.

I finally setup a proper test environment with a proxy that required authentication and managed to reproduce the problem quite easily. The crash is actually caused by a problem while displaying the error message.

This time I implemented full proxy authentication. It was quite a big change because I had to make all the tools support it. I have a new build availble now.

[NOTE: This is a beta version with a high level of logging. Please keep an eye on the size of your sync.log file]

http://www.syncjob.com/d...-1.3.4771-BETA-setup.exe

If you click on the "Refresh" button now, you'll get a proper error message (probably error 407: Authentication required).

Click on the "Settings..." button to enter proxy username and password. All the other settings will be taken from IE/Windows.

Please let me know how things work out.

Note that the following error can show up in your sync.log file, in case you're not using a scheduled task to synchronize your appointments:

Invalid .dat file. Ignoring saved settings

This error message is incorrect. It does not ignore your saved settings. It just can't read the proxy password, because it's not saved in the dat file yet (and never will if you don't use a scheduled task). The error message is changed and the problem is fixed (But not worth to release another beta for).
